:)

I just realised that we will be going to Malaysia in...3 week's time? Omg.
Although I know that the trip not overly exciting (becuase it will be a short holiday and I will have to come back to do my lovely financial year end - how can i escape that *shake my head*) but at least its sometime different from the ordinary life.  At least you can get away from your usual day to day routine.

Therefore I am wholeheartedly looking forward to it.

I can see the light at the end of tunnel...soon...

What do you do when you are alone?

Maybe reword the sentence - how would you fight boredom when you are alone?

Recently I have found myself lost.  I cannot describe the feeling.  When I get home, I feel that the world is so bland and no feeling.  I feel that there is no colour to life.  I keep question myself why I keep feeling that but I cannot find the answer.

I used to enjoy every moment when I am alone by watching DVD, surfing the net, etc.

But what has changed? Why have I lost interest to everything?

Please find me an answer to this.

What a week!

Oh my, didn't realise that its been awhile since I last updated the blog - exactly 1 month ago.

Things @ work have changed dramatically for the past month, mostly positive :) I am happy and looking forward to the new change to my career life.

I have just finished the painful part of October (especially the 2nd week - been working more than 15 hrs each day), and now I am enjoying this week from recovering and bludging.

Back to normal next week- will need to create those work instructions for handover.

Anyway, so glad that Friday is here.

The Marples Tea Room, Sassafras

This time in Melbourne, my friend took us to the other side of Yarra Valley and stopped at this surburb called Sassafras.

This place is famous for scones.  Believe it or not, we had to wait around for 1 hour to get a seat! No prebooking is allowed.

Scones with cream and jam

Although I am not a big fan of scones (I always thought that the scones are tasteless and too much flour) and cream (always hated the cream on the bday cakes), I quite liked it.  The scones are nice and warm when they are delivered on the table.  With the freshly made cream and jam, together with a nice cup of hot tea, it is a perfect way to spend the afternoon in a cold winter weather.

Happy Moon Festival 2008 中秋節快樂。

It was the Mid Autumn Festival last Sunday.  My mum was telling me that how the traditional mooncakes were all made of pig lard and therefore unhealthy and all that.  So this year I have decided, instead of mooncakes, I am having these:

Although not as much varieties as the ones in HK, I find these quite refreshing and fulfilling after dinner.

Guess what? I was sitting next to Libby Trickett the other day...

Something to rave about...

I was sitting next to Libby Trickett the other day, the Olympic Gold Medalist.  Here I was sitting in my seat in an airplane getting ready to take off, and then Libby has boarded the plane with hand full of stuff.  When she asked me whether she could squeeze through (trying to get into the windows seat) I couldn't believe that she was sitting on the same row as me!

Anyhow, she was just a human afterall.  I didn't talk to her at all, because I think she didn't want to get disturbed.

Melbourne 2008

I am in Melbourne now, staying in a nice serviced apartment @ St Kilda. I wish I can get to know Melbourne a little better, as recently I've had a chance to come to Melbourne every now and then.

This time, my friends and I went to a very nice winery in Yarra Valley for lunch. The difference between Yarra and Hunter Valley is that the wineries in Yarra Valley are all over the valley, whereas the wineries in the Hunter are more centralised.

Personally I reckon the taste for white wines are alot lighter in Yarra than the ones in the Hunter. My friends are serious wine collectors. All the wines they collected have put away nicely in the Kennards Self Storage - Wine storage section. I have never heard of this kind of thing before - I always thought that they only provide storage solutions for furnitures etc. Apparently they have one section that is exclusively for wine storage. They have a temperature and humidity control to keep good wines safe. Of course they have to be good wines in order to qualify for a place in there :)

Will post some photos soon.

Sometimes I wonder...

What is it like when you don't have a stable job (deliberately), and do contracting here and there?

Must be fun.

Rock Restaurant, Hunter Valley

Went to this nice restaurant during April - we actually found this restaurant by accident, because it was quite hidden as in location.

Nice view, good food, what more can you get?

Headache

Today I had a headache that followed me around whole day. It went away for a bit after lunch time but it came back after 4pm until now!

Why why why? Why am I forced to do all these things? They always want you to do something in order to "see your talent"or something. IS THIS REALLY NECESSARY?

I just want to be happy. thats it.

My new toy :D

Been sick and tired of my "brick" mobile phone, I have decided to search for a new one.

My ideal phone would be a small and compact all-in-one phone with touch screen.

At the moment i don't think theres anything available on the market yet....so i have to find my next ideal one I suppose.

I always wanted to go back to Nokia as I found it more user-friendly.

Here is my new phone :)

Stress and how to distress

What would you do if you are having a bad/stressful day at work? It can be range from missing your bus/train on your way to work, making some silly errors during work, or just simply don’t feel like working at all.

For me, I would prefer going onto the treadmill and “run it off”. Recently I found that when I am stressed at work, by hopping onto a treadmill can actually reduce my stress level, forcing myself not to think too much. At the same time it gives you a clear mind after finishing your workout.

Different people have different distressing techniques. What’s yours?

Self Pity - What's the point?

Sometimes I found myself self pitying on how "bad luck" I was when something negative happened, or things not planned as smooth as it would be. The more I self pity, the more depressed I wouuld become.

From now on, when I have encountered things that are not going as planned, I will write them down - the mistakes i have faced, some analysis on why I made the mistake, and FOCUS ON how to avoid the SAME mistake in future - is the key point.
